Sample Installations - New Homes.
Integrating
150+ components while retaining the beauty of the home
This extensive
project integrates more than 150 of world's most advanced electronic components
into one easy-to-use system that can transform the 8,000-square-foot custom
house to match the whims and needs of its owner. The system combines automated
actions for daily events with dozens of special settings that correspond to
the homeowner's ever-changing requirements. The system's flexibility and intuitiveness
is best exemplified by looking at some distinct capabilities.

Entertaining
To
prepare the home for entertaining, the owner simply touches an "Entertain" button
from any room -- and the transformation begins. In 15 seconds, preselected levels
on over 100 lighting loads set the mood and guide passage throughout the home.
The HVAC system cools or heats the house to a preset level. Like magic, gas
fireplaces roar to life.
Music is controlled
with a 16-zone PANJA whole-house
system that can be accessed from any room with touch keypads or RF (radio frequency)
remote controls. Every television monitor in the house can act as a video-driven
jukebox, complete with actual CD cover art, making selections from a 300-disc
changer.

Home Theater
The media room
features a top-of-the-line projection HDTV system, complete with 1000 total
watts of surround sound. Off-air and DirectTV HDTV signals, DVD, VCR and TiVo
sources offer the ultimate in flexibility. Two secondary theatre rooms contain
Sony Plasma televisions are mounted like heirloom paintings above the fireplaces.

Speakers and custom
subwoofers are housed discreetly in elaborate millworking. All systems are controlled
through touchscreen remotes. Essentially, the home automation system can convert
the house into a multiplex theater where every seat is the house's best. |
Security
The
home's security function --
which integrates garage doors, lighting, a security system and more -- offers
the ultimate in safety and convenience. Garage doors close automatically when
night falls. The owner can monitor and adjust the level of security from anywhere
around the world at any time through a telephone. The system learns the owner's
lighting preferences and repeats them while in vacation mode to mimic everyday
activity in the house.

These are just
three of over 20 current settings -- and an unlimited number in the future. By
using controls simpler than a bank ATM (and never more than five steps away),
we have put the power of a security officer, disk jockey, theater manager, butler
and lighting controller at the owner's fingertips. |
