Structured Wiring
Structured wiring is the "spinal cord" of most home automation and integration installations. It enables systems to communicate with one another and receive instructions from you.
There are three main types of wiring. The first two — security wiring and audio-visual wiring — fill specific needs within their particular function.
The third type — Category 5 structured wiring — permits the rapid transmission of a variety of information: voice and data communications, video and audio signals, lighting commands, security controls and much more. Where conventional wiring has the capacity of a squirt gun, structured wiring has the capacity of a fire hose. Plus, once a home is wired, an assortment of functionality can be added in the future. It's an investment that pays for itself many times over. |
